7 Wedding floral Trends to take your 2024 or 2025 Wedding to the Next Level
As you start planning your wedding for 2024 or 2025, let us take you on a little journey through our favourite new and continuing trends that we are currently seeing in the world of wedding florals. As all trends have a life cycle, these are the trends we have seen emerging and growing over the last year and are the ones we are most excited for as we start our year of wedding flowers. As always, we will bring a Horseshoe Flowers slant on these trends so that your dried wedding flowers will look wonderful for years to come in your wedding albums and memories (and home!), and not be a radical look that you will question yourself over years later.
Graphic Monochrome

Move over pastels; the trend for 2024 is all about moody monochromatic palettes. Deep burgundies, midnight blues, and charcoal greys create drama and sophistication and add an edgy touch. We love the use of lots of grey and black pampas grasses here for some serious drama. Bouquets are softened with preserved roses in beautiful tones and foliage in deep and dark natural brown and black hues. As well as going for lots of deep, dark shades we also see this trend back to ivory grounds and also with touches of tattoo-coloured inky, dark and moody colours. This is a dramatic and bold trend that will certainly wow your guests!
Texture

Textures are taking centre stage in 2024, with couples leaning towards lush, textured arrangements. We love the combination of tonal preserved flowers in lots of different varieties that make this a really dreamy floral concept. Imagine using lots of different preserved flowers together or using different grasses to play on textures, also adding in pampas grasses and preserved foliages for added texture. The result? Bouquets and floral centrepieces that are crying out to be touched, adding a tactile element to this visual treat that oozes romance and decadence.
Ombre

Ombre has been on the up for a couple of years now but bolder couples are really taking this trend on and going for it big-time. Horseshoe Flowers embraces this trend like no other! Play up the use of colour with bold clashing combinations such as pinks and reds, or go for a more tonal, soft approach with buttery shades ombre-ing into warm caramel and peach tones. Here you can also think of your entire floral selection as creating the ombre- so each bridesmaids bouquet is different in tone and the overall look is that of a beautiful cascading ombre. Or embrace the idea of your flowers ombre-ing in hues as you walk down your aisle. The possibilities here are limitless!
Bold blooms

Bold blooms is a trend that we have seen rising over the last couple of years but shows no signs of slowing down. This is wedding flowers that focus on just that, the flowers. It sounds like a simple idea but these bouquets and floral arrangements are a complex design that focusses on the natural beauty of the flower with no distractions, specifically no foliage. This gives us to opportunity to really play with stunning colour palettes and dramatic proportions. Think arranging the blooms at different heights for added drama and using colourful additions such as palm leaves, sola flowers and masses of colourful gypsophila. Drama all the way for this stunning and also super feminine floral trend.
Bows

Having a background in fashion design, this trend really speaks to us at Horseshoe Flowers! We love the idea of bouquets finished with luxurious velvet bows or large and dramatic organza bows, buttonholes for the ladies finished with little satin bows or floral table arrangements garnished with colourful bows. Bows are here to stay and we are here for ALL OF IT!
Oversized Statements
Go big or go home! Oversized floral installations are making a bold statement in 2024. From towering arches to cascading floral moon gates couples are embracing the idea that more is, indeed, more. Let your venue come alive with grand, eye-catching blooms that leave a lasting impression. No one is suggesting you need to opt for something as grand as a recent society wedding in Paris that cost over $50 million but you can create a floral extravaganza by focussing your wedding florals in one specific area of your wedding, one large arch installation or hanging flower clouds that extend across your ceilings.
Sustainability
What round up of trends would be complete in 2024 without talking about our environmental impact and sustainability. More and more eco-conscious couples are opting for sustainable flowers and choosing something that is dried and preserved allows you to enjoy your flowers for years after your wedding, making them an extremely sustainable option. Here at Horseshoe Flowers we are very conscious of our ecological impact and use only recyclable packaging (no plastic wrap here!), eco floral foams (no plastic based oasis style floral foams in use at all) and work with suppliers that offset their carbon footprints, provide re-usable cardboard boxes and more. Embrace the beauty of nature with a guilt-free, green approach to your floral arrangements, knowing you can keep them for years. If sustainability is at the core of your wedding beliefs as you are planning your wedding, dried and preserved wedding flowers are almost certainly the option for you.
As we step into 2024 (and beyond) remember that wedding trends come and go, but beautiful colours will always be on point. Our favourite wedding flower trends this year focus on colour, texture and femininity. Three things that will always be in style and are core beliefs for us here at Horseshoe Flowers.
Whether you want to focus on tonal colours in an array of textures or reach for something bolder, dramatic and eye-catching with your florals, these trends will certainly make your wedding day stand out. But know that whatever you choose, we are here to add a little fashion and a creative punch to your flowers. Let creativity shine!
