  1. Bouquets- a bit of a minefield but an exciting one to figure out

First up, most people are looking for a wedding bouquet or two. Whether you’re two brides, two grooms or are simply looking for a bridal bouquet, most couples want at least one focal bouquet. From this design we can usually match back the rest of your wedding flowers, either matching back completely, or using elements of to create the rest of your floral dreams.

Bouquets really do come in all shapes and sizes and prices can vary according to what you are looking for.

Most bouquets tend to be slightly rounded in shape with more modern, relaxed silhouettes becoming more and more popular. Rounded bouquets lend themselves to being held low and centrally to the body.

We love making our bouquets in a more relaxed shape that is wider at the sides and less round in shape. Using different heights for the flowers gives a wild, romantic look.

We use a lot of foliage in our designs which gives our bouquets a relaxed look, with plenty of movement.

When working with pampas grass, we can use little touches to keep the shape rounded or we can make the pampas a more focal part of the arrangement and go for a more asymmetric design with pampas at the back of the bouquet. These look best when laid asymmetrically across your arm when you make that all important walk down the aisle.

Bridesmaids bouquets can be more varied in their components. So, you could make them match your wedding bouquet and just make smaller versions. Or you can go for little posies using one or two of the flower ingredients from your bouquet, so a simpler and smaller version of your bouquet.

Other ideas include a few stems of long pampas grass or going for a flower hoop or something totally different. You could completely forgo the bouquets here and opt for flower crowns for the bridesmaids. Lots of options here and a really great place to save costs and allow your florist to get a little creative.

2. Table decoration inspiration and ideas

There are countless ways of decorating your tables at your wedding breakfast or your casual reception.

You could go all out with a super special table centrepiece on each table. You could raise these on risers for the ultimate impact.

Simpler (and more cost effective) ideas are to do little jam jars of wildflowers or bud vases in groupings of three, or placed down the length of your long tables.

Other options are to scatter petals or foliage down your long tables. This idea works really well on round tables as well and long banquet style tables. For round tables we an also create little garlands of foliage and you can place candles inside for extra ambiance.

3. Top tips for reusing your floral arrangements

Make sure you get the most out of your flowers, whichever options you go for. There are countless ways to repurpose your specific flowers to get the most out of your displays.

The easiest options would be using the long arrangement from your Registrars table and putting it on your top table for the wedding breakfast.

Arrangements that sit all the way down the aisle can become table centrepieces, or reuse pew ends in vases on your tables.

Even large installation pieces can be moved. We love to use frames for our archways so they can be moved from the end of the aisle to behind the top table or for use as a backdrop for your photo-booth.

4. How to get the most from your wedding floral budget

Focus your £ on kitting out the wedding party with their bouquets and buttonholes and then opt for one or two large impactful pieces.

Hanging clouds can really give you that wow factor. Think about placing at the end of the aisle and the place your top table in the same place so you get to use this focal arrangement for lots of your photos.

Two large arrangements for the end of the aisle is a lovely impactful statement, will look stunning as you walk down the aisle and then can be moved to the foot of the tables during your wedding breakfast. Then you need to only add a few bud vases to your tables to get a real feel for the whole floral look.

Archways are a beautiful way to get a huge floral display that can easily be used and moved to multiple places during the day. Also, your photos are going to look insane with that amazing backdrop!

5. What do we do to include the special women in your lives?

The guys seem to get all the inclusions- Dad’s or another father figure usually walk the bride down the aisle, they get boutonnières, they get to do the speeches… but what about the mums or mother figures in our lives?

Well these days there is definitely a trend for offering mums or grand-mums their own buttonhole or pin-on corsage, or perhaps a tie-to-the-wrist corsage.

If they or you don’t fancy that idea a thank you bouquet really goes a long way too.

6. Finally, think outside the box and have some fun with your flowers! Here’s a few of the more original ideas to have a think about

A huge trend right now is men’s pocket squares, there’s microphone decor, bridge decor, pretty much any space or place can be decorated and don’t forget your animal friends, dog collars all the way!

7. The big question- How much does it all cost?

Since every wedding is different- different styles, different flower choices, different finishes etc, prices do vary depending on the look you are going for. But to give you an idea of the approximate costs- our couples usually spend in the region of £1000-£1500 on their flowers and this would include bouquets, buttonholes, table decorations or a floral installation piece. We do cater for smaller, intimate weddings just featuring bouquets and buttonholes and depending on the style and the number of items that might range anywhere from £500- £800.

If you follow some of our money saving ideas above such a repurposing your flowers for different areas of your wedding or having one focal arrangement that can be moved and enjoyed in different areas, you will definitely get the most bang for your buck.
