12 Top Wedding Photographers from a Wedding Floral Designer

After 4 years working in the wedding floral industry I have encountered some really incredible wedding photographers and I wanted to share a few of my favourites with you to help you plan your own wedding.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to capture your special day so you can remember it forever. A truly good photographer captures everything from stunning portraits of you on the day, when you look your absolute best (thanks to a dream team of people such as stylists, hairdressers and make up artists), to all the little moments that you would otherwise miss (there’s a lot going on on your wedding day and its impossible to remember it all!). A great photographer also gets fantastic shots of all the little details that you don’t want to forget- the flowers (we love that bit obviously!), the cake, the favours, the shoes, the venue… the list really does go on and on.
A lot of my couples have been kind enough to share their wedding albums with me, so I have seen first hand how a truly amazing photographer makes such a difference. I’ve even had couples confide in me that their photos didn’t live up to their wishes. You can’t redo your special day so you want to make sure that you make the right choice upfront, so read on for a few suggestions for awesome photographers that can capture all the special vibes of your day.
Just a quick one- if your favourite photographer isn’t captured below it definitely doesn’t mean I don’t value them (I might not even know them!), I simply can’t comment on every photographer or even capture every photographer that I admire- there are loads- these are just the few that have stuck out to me over the past few years.
Vivid and Bold
Our favourite photography tends to be bright and vivid since it gels so well with our style of floristry. It’s no surprise that we love it when our flowers are shown in a colourful and bold way. So, this category is probably our favourite with some of our absolute favourite photographers. Read on to find out who!
Mirl and Co
We absolutely adore Mirlah’s photographic style, she captures the moments in-between amazingly as well and stunning relaxed portraits. The depth of colour is just amazing and she has the knack of framing every shot absolutely perfectly. If wedding photography isn’t the only area you are looking for a photographer for, she also does amazing family shoots throughout the year.
Mary Thomas
Mary’s photography looks like it is straight out of a magazine… amazing candid shots and a depth of colour that is just stunning. Mary is also an expert as capturing those little details- the stunning cake, the room decor, the flowers. We love.
Amy Elizabeth

A super relaxed style really shows through with Amy’s photography. She is also a master of the golden hour shot! Love how the colours in her photos really sing, maximum impact with each photo. Hard to pick a favourite when Amy’s the photographer.
Stephanie Dreams Photography

Absolutely adore the crisp clarity of Stephanie’s photography. Her work is definitely for the coolest of couples with amazing portraits that look like they are straight out of a magazine. Such beautiful, relaxed and naturally romantic photography.
Documentary Style
Here at Horseshoe Flowers we cannot get enough of relaxed and informal photography. We love it when all the little moments are captured in a natural way, when they look although the photographer has been hiding and capturing images without the subjects even realising. So this next category is what we call documentary photography, these images could be straight out of a lifestyle magazine.

We love a cropped photo- zooming in on all the details and singling out special moments and that’s exactly what Lisa Jane does with absolute ease. Her work could honestly be straight off the pages of Vogue. Each image perfectly framed in all it’s deliciousness. Obsessed.
Heather Sham
When you open a Heather Sham gallery, you know you are going to be hard pressed to pick a favourite image. She truly captures every detail and her photo’s are the coolest of cool with a slightly retro edge. A master of naturally stunning photography.
Luis Holden
Luis is having fun and the photos prove it! He manages to be there at every fun, wild, mad moment and doesn’t miss a second. His stunning work is fun, relaxed and cool beyond words. Want to look like you just stepped out of a magazine, then book Luis!

Rebecca’s work has a stunningly timeless appeal. Each shot is chic beyond words and framed to perfection. She has a crisp, clear photographic style that makes each photograph stand out. Perfect portraits but she is also there for the in-between moments, captured to perfection.
Romantic and Atmospheric
Our final category is when the romance dial is turned right up! This style tends to work really well with white roses and fluffy pampas but can equally feature lots of colour too. These photographers have a knack of making any wedding photo absolutely sing with love.
